Omid Scobie, the royal biographer, says Prince Harry is expected to be present at the unveiling of Princess Diana’s statue at Kensington Palace. The Duke of Sussex could therefore stand alongside his brother William. The two brothers have been in a conflicted relationship since Prince Harry left for the United States and after he retired from royal life with his wife Meghan Markle in 2020. A situation that has hardly improved after the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex gave a shocking interview to Oprah Winfrey almost a month ago.
Prince Philip’s funeral on April 17 still helped the brothers break the ice. Prince Harry and William were seen there chatting peacefully after the funeral. “He will join William at Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace for a ceremony that has been rescheduled since the summer of 2020,” Omid Scobie told Baazar.com.
“Harry has met the Queen on several occasions”
The statue of Princess Diana is expected to be revealed on July 1. A date that should have been his 60th birthday. Reports collected by The Sun claim that planners at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea have already approved the construction of the statue. Also, there has not yet been an official statement regarding Prince Harry’s visit to the event.
A close friend of the Duke of Sussex has claimed Prince Harry has met the Queen on several occasions. Besides his discussion with Princes Charles and William, the Duke of Sussex is said to have seen the Queen in private at least twice since his visit to the UK. “The love and respect he has for his grandmother will always be unwavering. This trip was meant to honor his grandfather’s life and to support his grandmother and those close to him,” said the source.
