If Meghan Markle is very popular today, it has not always been unanimous! While the British took a dim view that Prince Harry had for his mate an older, divorced American woman, one of his oldest friends had also expressed his reservations about the latter. Tom Inskip had been a close friend of Prince Harry since they met at Eton College. According to the Finding Freedom biography, Tom Inskip fell out with Prince William’s brother after sharing his “doubts” about the Duchess before their engagement. It seems he did indeed advise the couple to live together before “doing something more serious.”
According to the UK website Sunday Telegraph, a source close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told book authors Carolyn Durand and Omid Scobie that while this advice “is kind,” Prince Harrry “does not. wouldn’t have seen it that way. ” The same source explained, “He really hurt him that someone he is so close to does not trust his judgment.” As a result, Tom Inskip and his wife, Laura, were reportedly “punished” by being excluded from the marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at Frogmore House. Instead, they had to watch the royal couple’s new friends, like Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney, make their way to the event.
Prince William’s doubts
If his childhood friend had doubts about his relationship with Meghan Markle, Prince William, also took a dim view of the start of their relationship. According to the Finding Freedom biography, if Prince Harry had wanted to know his older brother’s opinion of his relationship, the latter would have advised him to “take as much time as possible to get to know this girl.” While the husband of Kate Middleton wanted to ensure that his brother is not “blinded by the desire” he felt for the young woman, the latter would have very badly received his comments.
