A close friend of Prince Charles tells The Sun that the explosive interview with Princess Diana in 1995 caused damage to Prince Charles and his family. The source says Prince Charles is said to be furious that it has taken 27 years to uncover the truth. Panorama took almost 3 decades to publicly correct this error. The BBC has apologized in writing to Prince Charles for this. The channel mentioned in particular the deceptive tactics adopted by Martin Bashir to have this interview. The BBC has also reportedly agreed to never show this interview again according to reports.
Note that Bashir always denies the facts. He claims not to have resorted to deception to have this interview with the Princess of Wales. Martin Bashir still apologized to Princes William and Harry. In particular, he made them understand that he adored their mother.
“An interview that touched Diana personally”
Recall that in this interview, the Princess of Wales had declared to Bashir: “there were three of us in the marriage”. The former Panorama presenter points out that this interview did no harm to the Princess of Wales. Yet Prince William claims the opposite. According to the Duke of Cambridge, this interview would have been the basis of his mother’s isolation and paranoia.
“I never meant to hurt Diana in any way and I don’t believe we did. Everything we did in terms of the interview was in line with what she wanted, from the moment it wanted to alert the palace, to the moment it was broadcast, to its contents …. My family and I loved it, “Bashir told The Sunday Times.
