Prince Andreas of Hohenlohe-Langenbourg died on October 28, 2021 at the age of 82. The German prince was close to Prince Charles since he was his first cousin. Besides, Prince Andreas was the head of the Hohenlohe-Langenbourg family. Last April, her nephew attended the funeral of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.

Recall that Prince Andreas of Hohenlohe-Langenbourg was born on November 24, 1938. He was the 3rd child of the Hohenlohe-Langenbourg family. Her father was the former head of the family, Prince Gottfried. Her mother was Princess Margarita of Greece and Denmark. She is the older sister of Prince Philip.

In 1968, Prince Andreas married Princess Luise of Schönburg-Waldenburg. The royal couple had 2 daughters, Katharina and Tatjana, and a slew of small children.

A close bond between families

Prince Philip enjoyed an excellent relationship with his sisters’ family. Moreover, the fact that the current head of the Hohenlohe-Langenbourg family, Prince Philipp, was at the funeral of the Duke of Edinburgh proves it. Remember that only 30 people had the privilege of attending. In addition, only 3 princes from the Germanic family of the Duke of Edinburgh were invited. Prince Charles continues to maintain this proximity between families. Moreover, Prince Philipp is greatly involved in the environmental association of the Prince of Wales.

The ancestors of Prince Andreas already ruled the county of Hohenlohe-Langenburg at the beginning of the 17th century. It was in 1764 that the county was elevated to the rank of principality.
