Elton John is a figure who stands out as much for his singing talent as for his numerous decorations and merits. Indeed, the singer of 74 years has already received many honorary badges. To this there is the insignia of Commander and the Knight of the Order of the British Empire. A title which was awarded to him by Queen Elizabeth II in 1998. This time, it was Prince Charles who presented him with the insignia of the Order of Companions of Honor. Elton John therefore joins Paul McCartney, his fellow rocker.

Note that this badge was created by King George V in 1917. It is an honorary title awarded “in recognition of a service of national importance”. The singer showed up in an elegant suit and tie with a cane in his hand. It was alongside her husband David Furnish that he presented himself at the investiture ceremony.

“Congratulations Sir Elton John! Today @eltonjohn was made a member of the Order of Companions of Honor by the Prince of Wales in an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle. Sir Elton, who received the special award for his services to music and charity, has a Crocodile Rockin career spanning more than 50 years, “Clarence House wrote on social media to mark the moment.

Elton John, the singer suffered a hip injury

Unfortunately, the cane carried by the singer was not an aesthetic accessory. Indeed, Elton John is said to be suffering from a hip injury. Moreover, it is also for this reason that he had to postpone almost all the dates of his upcoming concerts. Apart from his performance at the Global Citizen charity concert on September 25, 2021, he will not be back on stage until next January in the United States, then in Paris.
