But where is Melania Trump? On January 20, Joe Biden will officially settle in the White House after a transition “without a hitch” assured Donald Trump, who however specified that he will not attend. A not so surprising decision on the part of the President of the United States, who still cannot digest his defeat against the Democratic candidate, to such an extent that he had launched a call for revolt on January 6 to disrupt the certification of the election by Congress. A call heard by his supporters, who invaded the Capitol and caused scenes of chaos, even causing the death of five people.
An insurgency that was not without consequences for Donald Trump, permanently banned from Twitter, and who saw some members of his cabinet slam the door. And one who did not speak on these events, however, is none other than Melania Trump. More discreet than ever, the First Lady has indeed not spoken since January 1, when she wished the Americans a Happy New Year. And the invasion of the Capitol does not seem to have caused any stir, at least expressed in public, in the one who seems already turned towards his new life, far from Washington.
Melania Trump’s chief of staff resigns
While she has not appeared in public since returning from Florida on January 1, Melania Trump suffered a sad setback on January 6, since while the Capitol was under siege by pro-Trump protesters, her boss Cabinet Secretary Stephanie Grisham has announced her resignation. “It has been an honor to serve the country in the @WhiteHouse. I am very proud to have been part of the @FLOTUS @MELANIATRUMP mission to help children all over the world, and proud of the many accomplishments of this administration,” said she thus announced on Twitter. A resignation which also did not make Melania Trump react.
