What upheavals for the royal family! If the news was rather good in recent days with the birth of Princess Eugenie’s first child or the announcement of Meghan Markle’s second pregnancy, Prince Philip’s discomfort on Tuesday February 16 came to put an end to the moments of euphoria. The husband of Queen Elizabeth II, aged 99, was admitted to hospital “as a precaution” for several days so that his state of health could be controlled.
Closely watched, the Duke of Edinburgh is due to celebrate his 100th birthday on June 10. An event eagerly awaited by the Windsors, which has already been actively preparing for several months. The whole family is supposed to be reunited … or almost. While Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expected to take part in the festivities, it is without his wife that Prince William’s brother risks making the trip. Indeed, the British newspaper Mirror has already indicated that the former actress of Suits should not be traveling and that she will probably stay in the United States. As our colleagues indicate, it was after consulting with her husband that Archie’s mother made this decision, in particular to avoid any media hype.
A childbirth in June for Meghan Markle?
Another reason could force Meghan to stay on American soil. Prince Philip’s birthday will most certainly correspond to the date of his birth, if it does not take place before. According to Camila Tominey, specialist in royalty, the daughter of Thomas Markle would be pregnant for “about 5 months”. The birth should therefore take place in the middle of the year 2021 either at the end of spring or at the beginning of summer. Note that Prince Harry’s trip to England will be subject to changes in health restrictions linked to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is therefore not yet certain that he will be able to find his family this summer.
