The month of June seems to be successful for Meghan Markle. After welcoming her second child, a very healthy girl named Lilibet Diana, the Duchess of Sussex has just heard happy news. Thursday, June 16, she indicated on the site of her foundation, created with her husband Harry, that her children’s book was ranked number one in sales. “The Bench is # 1 on the New York Times bestseller list for children’s picture books after its release last week. Congratulations to everyone involved in the project,” it read. The book, in which she refers to her daughter, has been available in several countries since June 8. To celebrate this news, the former actress personally addressed the readers.
Meghan Markle: how did the story of her book come about?
It was not long after the birth of her first child, Archie, that it all started. Indeed, Kate Middleton’s sister-in-law was inspired by a poem written on Father’s Day. The first for Harry. “Although this poem began as a love letter to my husband and son, I am delighted to see that these universal themes of love, representation and inclusion resonate in communities around the world,” writes -she, moved to share these values which are close to her heart. With The Bench, Meghan Markle portrays, she says, “another side of masculinity, grounded in connection, emotion and gentleness – to model a world that so many would love to see for their sons and daughters.” Since the birth of his children, Harry has always been very introduced and caring. A source recently revealed to In Touch that he is “a man devoted to his family”, ready to do anything for their welfare.
