The Duchess took it for her rank! This Sunday, March 5, Netflix broadcast live Chris Rock’s new show, Selective outrage, in which the actor is not very tender with certain celebrities. Among his targets are, among others, Meghan Markle, who has been in the news for some time due to her shocking revelations about the royal family. While many people have supported the Duchess of Sussex following her testimony, Chris Rock does not seem particularly affected by the nature of her statements. The actor notably returned to Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which she explains that a member of the royal family had made a racist remark before Archie’s birth, wondering about the skin color that will have the baby.
“I don’t call it racism, because even black people wanted to know how dark the baby will be,” exclaimed Chris Rock before adding: “When you look behind the baby’s ear, it’s a scientific test because we have to know what kind of black child we will have (…) I know her dilemma. A black girl trying to be accepted by her white in-laws. Yes, it’s hard. is very hard. But it’s not as hard as a white girl trying to be accepted by her black in-laws. That’s really hard!” Perplexed by the Duchess of Sussex’s accusations, Chris Rock simply said: “Who is this Meghan Markle girl? She seemed like a nice girl, who spends her time complaining. But she won the fair skin lottery, no? (…) Some things she experienced, it’s not racism. It’s just bullshit of in-laws “.
Chris Rock slapped by Will Smith: “It still hurts”
Not sure that the actor enters the good graces of the royal couple after that. After all, Chris Rock is no stranger to angry jokes. He still remembers the slap that Will Smith gave him a year earlier, at the Oscars. “People ask (me) ‘Does it hurt?’ It still hurts,” he explained. “Will Smith is definitely bigger than me. Will Smith played the role of Muhammad Ali in a film. You think I auditioned for this?”
