To support themselves independently, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry sign a contract with the streaming platform Netflix. The couple founded their company, called the Archewell Foundation, named after their son Archie. Le Parisien newspaper reports that the couple signed a multi-year contract with Netflix worth $ 100 million. They will produce documentaries and films.
In a statement, the parents of little Archie detailed their projects: “Through our work with various communities and their environments, to shed light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creation of content that informs but also gives hope. ” In the process, Meghan and Harry entered into a partnership with Spotify, an audio streaming platform for the production of podcasts. Their first episode aired last December and featured little Archie.
A choice of security
In the interview with Oprah Winfrey on CBS, Prince Harry spoke about why the couple made this deal with Netflix. “It was never my intention. We are certainly not complaining, our life is great now, we have a wonderful house, I have a wonderful family. The dogs are very happy. During the Covid, a friend suggested to stream and I hadn’t thought of it. There were all kinds of different options, but from my perspective, I just needed enough money to keep my family safe. ” An assumed choice.
