On March 7, 2021, the royal couple, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, give their first television interview to Oprah Winfrey. Many points were raised including the new life of the couple in Los Angeles, the arrival of the second child as well as some revelations on the British monarchy. Recall that the couple has moved away from the British royal family.
During the interview, the couple pointed out racist remarks against their son, Archie. If the couple wanted to hide the identity of the person concerned, Lay Colin Campbell, author of several works dedicated to the royal family, said that it was Princess Anne. The latter’s words were said to have been misunderstood by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
“There was no reference to skin color”
Relayed by the “Daily Mail”, Colin Campbell declares “Harry decided that an allusion to culture actually referred to skin color (…) Anne was worried about the disastrous effects that the arrival of such a personality in the family, which would cause problems not only for them, but also for any child born of this union (…) He rushed to Meghan to express his objections, and Meghan has them instrumentalised by invoking the color of skin “.
“There was nothing to worry about about Meghan’s skin color. Princess Anne was rightly concerned that if their wedding took place and there were children there would be huge problems, not because of Meghan’s color, but because of her inability to appreciate the cultural differences between the British and the Americans, “she continued.
