The Sussexes couldn’t be happier! On June 4, Meghan Markle gave birth to their second child, a little girl with very symbolic names, Lilibet Diana. As with every celebrity birth, the American tabloids got their hands on the baby’s birth certificate. And that of Archie’s sister, obtained by TMZ, has several surprises. First: the official title used by Prince Harry. On the document, it is written Duke of Sussex but also … His Royal Highness. This little coquetry could therefore start a new war within the Crown, as was the case after the birth of the Sussexes’ first child. At the time, the royal family were reportedly furious that Meghan Markle’s first names were erased and replaced with her titles of Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex.
Soon after, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry retaliated with a statement in which they claimed that the removal of her first names had been “dictated by the palace, as documents from senior palace officials” confirm. To kill the controversy in the eye, a spokesperson for the Sussexes immediately reacted to the publication of Lilibet’s birth certificate. “This is his legal name – the document required his legal name, he said. It is common for ‘His Royal Highness’ to appear in the name and surname section of birth certificates and it has been. for Prince William and all his children – as well as for Harry. ” And if they have agreed to give up their titles to move to the United States, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continue to annoy defenders of tradition.
Another setback for the Sussexes
Recently, a temporary exhibition has fueled the fire. In it, titled Royal Style in the Making, signs were hung on which was inscribed: “On loan from His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge and His Royal Highness The Duke of Sussex”. Since Prince Harry can no longer use this title, they are going to have to be changed. A spokesperson explained that “the Royal Collection Trust is responsible”, adding that it is “an administrative error”. On the new labels, the public will read: “On loan from His Royal Highness The Duke of Cambridge and The Duke of Sussex”. But nothing to undermine the happiness of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, delighted with the arrival of their second child.
