In January 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their intention to leave the royal family. A news that had the effect of a bomb with the British and the Windsors. Since then, it is in California that they seem to be very fulfilled, with their children, Archie and Lilibet. They only return to the United Kingdom during important events, including on September 8, following the death of Queen Elizabeth II. It was his son, King Charles III, who took over and he celebrated his 74th birthday on Monday, November 14. On each anniversary, members of the royal family share a message on social networks, accompanied by unpublished photos. However, this was not the case for the Sussexes. Have they forgotten the birthday of the new King of England? Did they snub him on purpose? As revealed by The Mirror, it is impossible to know if the couple had contact with King Charles III in private. As a reminder, they are no longer active on social networks and their last post dates back to January 2020. Victims of hate messages and derogatory comments, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle prefer to stay away.
Tensions still seem to be very present within the royal family. The Sussexes have been talked about a lot since their departure and each of their appearances is highly commented on. In addition, Prince Harry is about to release his memoirs in which he will chain the revelations. However, when he took over, King Charles III gave a speech that was widely noticed. Indeed, he first indicated that it is a “moment of evolution for (s)a family”, before mentioning his son, prince William. Now heir to the throne, he became “Duke of Cornwall”, in addition to his title of Duke of Cambridge. He also officially consecrated him Prince of Wales. “Today I am proud to consecrate him Prince of Wales…with Catherine at his side, our new Prince and our new Princess of Wales will, I know, continue to inspire and lead our national conversations”, had– he declares. Subsequently, these are unexpected remarks that he made since he had a thought for Prince Harry and his wife. “I express my love to Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives overseas,” he said.
Birthday of King Charles III: was he deliberately snubbed?
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did not wish King Charles III’s birthday. However, this isn’t the first time the Sussexes have failed to do so. On the occasion of his father’s 72nd birthday, Prince Harry had already not had a thought for him, but he had however made it known that he had a new communications manager. An oversight that had been much commented on by Internet users, disappointed with this attitude. The Sussexes are not the only ones to have forgotten King Charles III this Monday, November 14. Neither did Princess Anne and Prince Edward publicly celebrate it, nor did Sarah Ferguson and Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice. Only Kate Middleton and Prince William have put him in the spotlight on Twitter. “A very happy birthday to his majesty King Charles III”, they wrote in the caption of a photo on which we can see the king of England leaning against a tree.
