Meghan Markle and Prince Harry unravel the true from the false? Their high-profile couple is making headlines in the press. Latest rumor to date: the royal title which does not benefit the little Archie. If it were whispered that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not want a title for their elder, it would actually be wrong. According to the Finding Freedom biography of Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, Meghan and Harry have submitted the application for a title for their little Archie. Indeed, the couple wanted it because it “would offer their son a level of security that only comes with a title”. “The differential treatment the couple felt they had received for their son was a major sting for Harry and Meghan,” we can still read.
Change of protocol?
Last March, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave a shocking interview to Oprah Winfrey. The Duchess of Sussex says her son Archie was not given the rank of prince at birth due to a change in protocol. She also hinted that this decision was influenced by her son’s skin color. However, according to an expert quoted by The Mirror, the parents had the possibility of granting him the title of Earl of Dumbarton. However, it was later reported that Meghan and Harry didn’t like the idea of Archie enjoying the title Account of Dumbarton.
Not having a title means for Archie that he won’t have his own security service if he’s not a prince. The Duchess of Sussex points out that she and the Duke of Sussex did not have control over this decision. According to these rules, only the eldest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Prince George, was initially entitled to hold the title of prince. The reason being that he is the great grandson of the monarch in direct line for the succession to the throne. Also under these rules, Archie will have the right to be an HRH once Prince Charles takes the throne.
