Hello it’s us! While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had not returned to the UK since their exile in 2020, the couple decided to pay a visit to Windsor Castle on their way to the Invictus Games, a competition reserved for veterans and war wounded. A detour to greet Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles, which would have taken place from Wednesday April 13 until Thursday April 14, before they left for the Netherlands as reported by the Daily Mail Online.

But this courtesy visit might hide a much less classy reason. Royal Family expert Tom Bower told Daily Mail Online that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made the secret visit “for their Netflix documentary”. The expert thus accused the couple of “exploiting an elderly and sick woman to increase her credibility and her finances”.

A documentary series produced by Harry and Meghan

In 2020, Harry and Meghan had indeed signed a lucrative contract with Netflix to produce a documentary series. Entitled Heart of Invictus, the program must be centered on the Invictus Games. The prince who served in the British army in Afghanistan had organized the first Invictus Games in 2014. The streaming platform had warned that he was to appear at the screen.

Critics have criticized Harry and Meghan for taking advantage of these Games to allow Netflix to attend private meetings, and to present them in a favorable light. Prince William and Kate Middleton were not present for this family reunion. A “significant” gesture for Robert Jobson, correspondent for the royal family. Indeed, the relationship between the two brothers has been at its lowest since Harry decided to sever his ties with the monarchy.
