Last January, Meghan and Harry announced an unprecedented decision. The couple, tired of their bickering with the royal family – in particular William and Kate – and of being the target of paparazzi and tabloids, took off. No more royal obligations, now the Sussexes intend to live on their own money, without depending on the crown, will no longer honor the duties incumbent on the close family of the queen.
Meghan and Harry even leave the fold of the monarch to live on the other side of the world, in America. They recently moved into a huge mansion in California, Santa Barbara, where Archie’s former actress and mom is from.
“They have to make a living”
Without the UK taxpayer’s money, are they short of money? Their plans were thwarted by the covid19 pandemic, as they relied on their speaking skills to deliver expensive conferences. “They have to make a living, when at the moment the market for after dinner speeches is nonexistent. Lectures are on hiatus, they are seeing how to diversify,” said royal expert Katie. Nicholl at the British Vanity Fair.
“Their priority right now is production. I can see them creating a series, rather than seeing Meghan again on camera,” she continues. Their projects would obviously revolve around their values: human rights, the empowerment of women, or the Black Lives Matter movement which is shaking society.
