Maxima of the Netherlands, 50, and King Willem-Alexander, 54, visited the Dunes and Bulbs area on Thursday, April 7, 2022. The Duin- en Bollenstreek, literally the Dunes and Bulbs area, is known worldwide for its dunes, beaches and flower fields. King Willem-Alexander and Maxima of the Netherlands visited five municipalities in the region. The sovereigns were able to talk with representatives of each municipality and some entrepreneurs in the field of horticulture and tourism. The visit was an opportunity for the royal couple to make many discoveries.
Queen Maxima of the Netherlands and King Willem-Alexander visited the town of Lisse where the famous tulip flower park, the Keukenhof, is located, according to Histoires Royales. “But it was not in a field that Willem-Alexander and Máxima went. Their visit began at the football club FC Lisse”, specifies the magazine. The royal couple continues with the visit of the second municipality which is that of Teylingen. The King and Queen of the Netherlands visited a bulb growing company there. Queen Maxima of the Netherlands and King Willem-Alexander were able to discuss with industry representatives the issue of implementing more modern bulb cultivation methods and the development of new business models.
