Masterchef: a star of the junior edition dies at only 14

He had everything to become a great of this world, but life did not give him the time. Monday November 16, 2020, according to his family, Ben Watkins died when he was only 14 years old. As reported by TMZ, the young boy had made himself known by participating in Masterchef Junior in the United States. Quickly, over the broadcasts, he had seduced the public and became the darling of viewers and Gordon Ramsay, the host of the program. When he was only 11 years old when he embarked on the adventure, he was promised a great future in the restaurant business. In fact, he cooked and served at the counter at Big Ben’s Bodacious BBQ and Delicatessen in Gary, Indiana.

But last year, after life had already robbed him of his parents a few years ago in a murder-suicide, doctors diagnosed him with a terrible disease. He suffered from a rare cancer called angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma, which only six people worldwide have. Despite the treatment he was receiving at Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago, his lungs had become too fragile and doctors could do nothing to save his life. “Ben’s lungs couldn’t give him the air he needed to breathe. It was devastating,” said his uncle, who has been in custody with his grandmother since his parents disappeared.

Ben Watkins had the support of his former Masterchef Junior teammates

It is surrounded by his loved ones and his vast Marvel Comics collection that he breathed his last. Earlier in the year, he had received encouragement from his former Masterchef Junior teammates. In one video, they wished him a speedy recovery and sent him lots of courage to face this new ordeal.
