A discreet tribute. Meghan Markle moved this Thursday, May 26, to Uvalde, in the State of Texas, to salute the memory of the victims of the killing on Tuesday in a school in this city of the United States. Prince Harry’s wife was dressed in jeans, a t-shirt and a cap. She collected herself in front of a makeshift memorial on which she laid flowers.

Meghan Markle then walked in the central square of Uvalde, where white crosses are installed on which are inscribed the names of the victims of the massacre. A spokesperson said the Duchess of Sussex made the trip personally and as a mother. She wanted to offer her condolences and offer her support to the bereaved community.

Stars show their anger after the shooting

This Tuesday, May 24, 2022, Salvador Ramos, an 18-year-old young man shot dead 19 children and two teachers in Uvalde primary school. The latter was ultimately shot dead by law enforcement during the assault. Shortly after this tragedy, many stars spoke on social networks to demand new regulations and legislation on firearms. This is for example the case of Selena Gomez and Matthew McConaughey, both from Texas. Both expressed their anger. “If children are not safe in school, where are they safe? (…) Those in power must stop paying lip service and change the laws to prevent these mass shootings. future,” wrote the singer on Twitter, while the actor took to his Instagram account to deliver what he had on his heart: “This is an epidemic that we can control, and whatever side of the aisle where we stand, we all know we can do better. We must do better. Measures must be taken so that no parent has to go through what Uvalde’s parents and others before them have endured.”
