On Easter weekend 2022, the Danish royal family celebrated two holidays at the same time. On April 16, 2022, the Danish monarch celebrated her 82nd birthday. The following day, the Queen of Denmark celebrated Easter with her family members. Although the health context has imposed some changes, Queen Margrethe II wanted to make a sign to her subjects. According to Royal Histories, Queen Margrethe II of Denmark’s birthday party was held privately at Marselisborg Castle, Aarhus. Usually, the birthday of Queen Margrethe II is celebrated at Fredensborg Castle during the spring, specifies Histoires Royales.

Marselisborg Castle is usually chosen for Christmas and Easter. As the Queen of Denmark’s birthday coincides with Easter Saturday this year, it was celebrated at Marselisborg Castle. The birthday of Margrethe II of Denmark was attended by several members of her family at the castle. Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary and their four children were present in Aarhus. Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine were also there.

Queen Margrethe II of Denmark also came out onto the castle balcony to greet her subjects. These were installed on the lawn of Marselisborg Castle. Paris Match recalls that great festivities had been planned to celebrate the 80th birthday of the widow of Prince Henrik. Although such festivities have not yet taken place this year, Queen Margrethe II celebrated her birthday and Easter with her family.
