The ex First Daughter is launched on the small screen. According to the American site The Hollywood Reporter, Malia Ann Obama was hired by Donald Glover (Solo: A Star Wars Story) to lend his pen to his new television series project. At just 22 years old, the eldest daughter of Barack and Michelle Obama will help write the screenplay for Hive, a series focused on the daily life of a pop star inspired by singer Beyonce. She will work in collaboration with Janine Nabers, to whom we owe the scripts for the Watchmen and Away series, herself chosen to lead the team of writers. The series is intended for broadcast on Amazon Prime Video, with whom Donald Glover recently signed a multi-year contract.
While this is Malia Obama’s first serious job on a serial project, it isn’t the first time the ex-First Girl has been in the television world. In 2014, she got an internship on the set of the Extant series, produced by Steven Spielberg and worn by Halle Berry. She was then illustrated in the role of production assistance, revealing her desire to pursue a career in Hollywood. Later, in July 2015, she had a new internship on the set of the series Girls, by Lena Dunham.
