May 3, 2007 was marked by the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, an almost four-year-old British girl. In Germany, investigators are focusing all their investigations on Christian Brueckner, considered to be the main suspect in the kidnapping of the girl. Dieter Fehlinger, his former father-in-law, confided in Australian TV this Monday, May 30. As he revealed, while visiting his daughter Nicole in 2007, he got into Christian Brueckner’s van. A moment that he has never forgotten in particular since, after all these years, a doubt persists. “He could hide drugs or even a small child in a suitable place inside the vehicle”, he first explained before adding: “I wonder if Madeleine was not there. It was in April 2022 that Christian Brueckner, then suspected by the authorities, was indicted. Repeated pedophile, 45 years old, he is currently in prison for the rape of a 72-year-old person. On May 4, 2022, it was the Daily Mirror who explained that an “object belonging to Maddie McCann was found in Christian B’s motorhome”, which was enough to prove his guilt. The German prosecutor in charge of the investigation also indicated that “new elements have been discovered, new evidence. Not forensic evidence, but evidence”, could one read next. On May 14, crucial information was revealed by The Sun. According to information from the tabloid, Christian Brueckner would have undergone surgery … that of the jaw. This is important since, when the FBI made the sketch of the suspect, it was indicated that he had prominent teeth. Despite this change, the prosecutor in charge of the investigation assures that he has no doubts. “We are confident that we have the man who kidnapped and killed your daughter,” he told Maddie McCann’s parents.

Since her disappearance in 2007, Maddie McCann’s body has never been found, which leaves a lot of hope to her parents.
