It’s a twist that no one saw coming. On February 19, a 21-year-old woman made herself known on social networks by declaring that she had reason to think that she could be Maddie McCann, who disappeared on May 3, 2007 in Praia da Luz, Portugal. Julia Wendell, who also goes by the internet as Julia Faustyna, appealed to Maddie’s parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, saying they needed a DNA test to prove her theory. For her part, the young woman would indeed come up against a very refractory family…

In an interview with The Sun, Dr. Fia Johansson, psychologist, medium and private detective hired by Julia, explained that her parents would have refused to submit themselves to a DNA test. “We want to be very respectful to the McCann family, to respect their privacy and their children until we know exactly who Julia is, she says. I think we have to push the mother, or another member of Julia’s family, to submit to a DNA test rather than disrupt Kate and Gerry’s daily life, which is not necessary. If a family member would agree to take a DNA test, we could solve all this. But they refuse it.”

“Julia’s mother claims to have her birth certificate, but we believe such a document can be easily forged”

“I personally spoke with Julia’s mother and told her that she would be safe, but she still refuses to take the test, continues the psychologist. She claims to have Julia’s birth certificate, but we believe that such a document can be falsified easily.” If Julia and her private detective are so suspicious, it’s because the young woman’s past is full of gray areas. Moreover, when she tries to speak with her parents about her doubts about her identity, they refuse to answer her. “My mom doesn’t want to talk about it, she said in a video shared on Instagram. She says the past is in the past and she’s not going to talk about the past. She says we should focus about the future. My dad said, ‘What if I wasn’t your dad, would that matter?'”

Let Julia be reassured, the parents of little Maddie McCann, determined to study all possible leads, have already agreed to give Julia a DNA test. However, we do not know how this will take place.
