After pleading guilty to fraudulent bank transfer in May 2020, immersed in the bribery scandal, Lori Loughlin was sentenced to prison. If the federal prosecutor of Massachusetts Andrew Lelling had recommended a prison sentence of two months, the actress was finally released on Monday, December 28, not serving her entire sentence since, according to the American magazine People, she did not served only “nearly two months.” For her part, her husband Mossimo Giannulli is still behind bars. He began his sentence on November 19, 2020, just like his beloved.
And while Lori Loughlin may be relieved to have left federal prison in Dublin, California, her freedom does come at a price. After paying a fine of 150,000 dollars, the actress must now provide 100 hours of community service. The sanction reserved for her husband is however more severe. Sentenced to five months in prison, the stylist will have to complete 250 community service upon his release and has been fined 250,000 dollars. There is no doubt that the couple’s two daughters, Olivia and Bella, are grateful for the moment to find their mother.
Two weeks in prison for Felicity Huffman
Involved in the same publicized scandal, Felicity Huffman was however entitled to more leniency than Lori Loughlin. In September 2019, the former Desperate Housewives star was sentenced to two weeks in prison for paying $ 150,000 to falsify the university entrance tests of her daughter, Sofia. She had started her prison term a month later, and more specifically on October 25, 2019. Her brief imprisonment was, however, accompanied by a fine of $ 30,000 as well as 250 hours of community service.
