On December 9, Queen Letizia of Spain and her husband presided over the 70th anniversary of the Association of Academies of the Spanish Language. The event took place at the headquarters of the Royal Spanish Academy in Madrid. According to Today In 24, the association is “responsible for bringing together the different Academies of the Spanish Language in order to promote the unity, integrity and development of the Spanish language.” Founded in Mexico in 1951, the entity brings together 23 corporations located in America, Spain, the Philippines and Equatorial Guinea. More than fifteen congresses have already been held by the association since its existence. King Felipe VI took the floor to close the event by emphasizing the great importance of the work of this association.

In his speech, King Felipe said that the academies have been able to reconcile the history of language and artificial intelligence. He spoke of the academies and their “their fidelity to the past, to the history of our language”, with “their resolute decision to face the immediate future which will be marked by artificial intelligence”. Before the speech of the King of Spain, the president of ASALE presented the most important project of the association. Santiago Muñoz Machado summarized the Historical Dictionary of the Spanish Language (DHLE) and the Spanish Language and Artificial Intelligence (LEIA). Several personalities, including the Minister of Science and Innovation and the Director of the Cervantes Institute took part in the event.

Queen Letizia of Spain, chic and elegant in black and white for the occasion

To attend this important event for the Spanish language, Queen Letizia sported a simple white style. The Queen combined a black flared skirt with a black Burberry belt with a white blouse with black buttons. According to Today In 24, this is not the first time that the Queen has worn this blouse from Maksu. She wore it during “the last military Easter and then wore it during Princess Eleanor’s confirmation,” the magazine states. To accessorize her outfit, the wife of King Felipe VI chose Manolo Blahnik pumps and a Nina Ricci handbag. She did not forget to wear her favorite Karen Hallam ring paired with link earrings.
