A look for the occasion. On Sunday August 1, Letizia from Spain put its summer vacation on hold to attend the closing ceremony of the Atlantida Mallorca Film Festival, in Palma de Mallorca. The opportunity for her to award a few prizes, such as to director Stephen Frears to whom we owe Philomena, Tamara Drew or The Queen, as well as to Judi Dench, interpreter of M in the James Bond films. And for the occasion, the queen seemed to have opted for a very James Bond girl look, with a slit midnight blue dress that revealed her tanned legs, shod with pumps with metallic heels.

An outfit that brought out the tan of Letizia from Spain, a follower more than ever of white, who had opted for a clutch to match her dress and discreet hoops to complete her look. Delighted to present an award to an exceptional actress like Judi Dench and a filmmaker like Stephen Frears, the wife of Felipe VI seemed to have for a moment forgotten the terrible mourning that recently touched her family. Indeed, on July 27, the Queen learned of the death of her adored paternal grandmother, Maria del Carmen Álvarez del Valle, alias “Menchu”.

Was Letizia from Spain at her grandmother’s funeral?

A former radio journalist, this paternal grandmother who passed away at the age of 93 seems to have been a real model for Letizia of Spain, who before becoming the queen of a country was also a journalist. However, despite her admiration for “Menchu” and the affection she had for him, the mother of Leonor and Sofia was not seen at her funeral on July 28, in the cemetery of Ribadesella. A funeral in a small committee where the family of the deceased were present, with the exception of her adored granddaughter, who had no official commitment that day.
