The wife of King Felipe VI is traveling to Senegal for the inauguration of the new headquarters of the Cervantes Institute in Dakar. On Monday, December 13, the Queen of Spain visited the new center which is located in a renovated independent villa located near the Cheikh Anta Diop University. She then visited the “Illustrada” exhibition before ending with a visit to the library. The first lady of Senegal invited Queen Letizia of Spain to a lunch at the Presidential Palace after the inauguration. The Cervantes Institute in Dakar is the third center dedicated to the promotion of the Spanish language and culture in sub-Saharan Africa. Since 2010, the institution has had a class in Dakar and another in Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire.
