A figure in the history of American television, Larry King has been hospitalized for ten days at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Aged 87, the journalist who has worked for twenty-five years on CNN has indeed contracted the coronavirus and cannot receive any visits. A close relative of the King family assured ABC News, “Larry has battled so many health issues in recent years and he fights this one so hard, he’s a champion.” Suffering from type 2 diabetes, the journalist has experienced many medical problems. He had several heart attacks, but also suffered from lung cancer and angina, a disease caused by reduced blood flow to the heart.
While he appeared weakened last October, it was on social networks that fans were keen to support Larry King. On Instagram, we can read: “Please get well soon Larry!” ; “I pray for a speedy recovery Mr. King! I have loved watching your shows for so many years !!! You are an important and indispensable figure in our media! Know that we love you all and hope for the best”; but also: “CNN has never been the same after you left Larry. You are the best. We love you and we pray for you!”
The journalist had lost two of his children a few months earlier
In a statement on his Facebook page, the journalist confirmed the death of two of his children last August. “It is with sadness and the broken heart of a father that I confirm the recent loss of two of my children, Andy King and Chaia King. Both were good and kind souls, they will be sorely missed. Andy has passed away suddenly. of a heart attack on July 28, and Chaia died on August 20, shortly after being diagnosed with lung cancer. Losing them just doesn’t seem to be in the order of things. No parent should have to. bury a child. My family and I thank you for your dedication and kind words. At this time, we need a little time and privacy to heal. Thank you for respecting this. “
