Another brand in the name of SKKN + already exists, it operates in the field of salon, skin care and beauty spa services. SKKN + founder Cydnie Lunsford spoke in a statement on Us Weekly about her dismay. The “young black woman,” as she describes herself, said: “I have meticulously built my successful small business with my own sweat capital, hard work and research.”

Lunsford attorney Erik M. Pelton said the SKKN + trademark was filed with the US Patent Office before Kim’s. It is reported that “Lunsford registered the trademark for SKKN + on March 28. The founder of Skims filed a trademark for SKKN BY KIM on March 30 and another for SKKN on July 9”.

“We haven’t done anything that deserves legal action on his part.”

Kim Kardashian’s lawyer believes the legal attack is disproportionate since it is only a trademark rights issue. In addition, he reports that they are disappointed that Cydnie Lunsford has publicized the whole affair. He ended his statement by announcing the search for common ground. He said: “So while we disagree with the letter, we hope we can straighten things out once both sides have spoken.”

The launch of the SKKN by KIM brand is crucial for the star. Earlier this month, Kim Kardashian also announced the rebranding of KKW Beauty. She spoke of “a new brand with new formulas that are more modern, innovative and packaged in a new high and sustainable look”.
