Kevin Trompat, 21, and Leslie Hoorelbeke, 22, disappeared on the night of November 25 to 26, 2022. Three months later, their bodies were found in the neighboring towns of Puyravault and Virson and three young men were taken into custody. examination and remanded in custody.
After the discovery of the two bodies on Friday March 3 and Saturday March 4, a press conference was held to give several elements on the course of events and the investigation. Cyril Lacombe, the public prosecutor of Poitiers, thus indicated: “The first body discovered is, in all likelihood, that of Kevin Trompat”. According to the first information, the two bodies were dressed and no trace of sexual assault would have been noted.
Kevin and Leslie were reportedly killed by “a blunt object”.
If the characteristic tattoos of the two victims would have allowed an “almost formal” identification, the official results of the autopsy should be known on Thursday, November 9. Regarding the causes of death of Leslie and Kevin, the prosecutor revealed that they were killed with “a blunt object”. According to Le Parisien, it could be baseball bats or iron bars. The investigation should provide more details on the exact object that caused their death.
Finally, the motive for the crime still remains unclear according to Cyril Lacombe, who evoked the hypothesis of a “sentimental disappointment and, or, a financial debt”. Indeed, drug trafficking involving certain protagonists could be linked to the double homicide, as could the possibility of romantic disillusionment. “The various investigations that are continuing will tend to establish as well as clarify certain circumstances of this double homicide, even if the facts seem to have taken place in a reduced time frame” concluded the prosecutor.
