After nine long months of waiting, Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry have become parents. On the night of August 25 to 26, the couple announced the birth of their first child, on the Unicef Instagram account. The singer, who announced she was pregnant with a girl, gave birth to a baby girl the couple named Daisy Dove Bloom; “daisy” meaning “daisy” in English. This pretty name, Katy Perry had put it in the spotlight in a song recorded during confinement, released on May 15.
It is therefore a pretty little daisy that has flowered the life of the actor and the singer. Only little Daisy almost did not bear this name. And for good reason, her parents did not agree on the first name to give to their daughter, when Katy Perry was pregnant. According to Us Weekly information, the star of the Pirates of the Caribbean saga wanted a different name for her baby. “Katy ended up winning the battle for the baby’s name,” a close source said Thursday, August 27. “She wanted to take the first name Daisy, but Orlando loved Fiona,” the source added. The 43-year-old actor thought Fiona “sounded good” with the first name Flynn, which is the first name of his 9-year-old son he had with Miranda Kerr.
A meaningful first name
Another close source explained that at the beginning of August, Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry “still had to agree” on the name of the future baby. “She loves the name Daisy because daisies are her favorite flowers, it’s simple, pure and sunny,” we learn. And there’s another first name that the 35-year-old singer liked a lot: “She also likes the first name Grace Ann very much. Ann after her grandmother, whose first name was Ann Pearl”. For his part, Orlando Bloom was “okay with her and okay with honoring Katy’s late grandmother, he loved her middle name, Pearl,” the source concluded. The Californian singer announced her pregnancy last March, revealing her already imposing baby bump in the video for her song “Never Worn White”.
