After the family Easter celebrations in Windsor, the Cambridges are already honoring their royal commitments. During these celebrations, Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, 6, had made it clear that she wanted to come back for a one-on-one with the Easter eggs. Back to work! On Thursday April 21, Kate Middleton, 40, and Prince William, 39, visited the headquarters of the Disasters Emergency Committee. In all, the latter brings together 15 British charities. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge particularly wanted to hear about the campaign to support those affected by the invasion in Ukraine.
A call for donations across the United Kingdom has been put in place following this conflict. Moreover, this has already raised more than 280 million pounds sterling, or nearly 335 million euros, according to Hello. 25 million pounds were donated by the British government. The magazine also reports that even Queen Elizabeth II of England, 96, made a sizeable donation to the organization at the very start of the conflict.
Kate Middleton: the Duchess of Cambridge opts for a working girl outfit with a Ukraine pin
For this event, the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, chose to wear a “working girl” outfit. Prince William’s wife, 39, showed up in her beige Reiss blazer and an ecru top. Kate Middleton completed her look with black pants and a pair of pumps. On the collar of her jacket, the mother of Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 4, did not forget to glue her pin in the colors of the Ukrainian flag.
Note that Kate Middleton and Prince William had already shown their support for the Ukrainian people at the start of the conflict. Last March, the royal couple visited the Ukrainian Cultural Center in London. This situation is far from trivial since the British royal family very rarely expresses itself on their political opinions.
