On April 29, 2011, Kate Middleton and Prince William said yes in front of millions of viewers who followed the ceremony broadcast on television around the world. The couple is therefore celebrating their tin wedding this Thursday, April 29. But the weeks leading up to D-Day were not easy, especially for Kate Middleton who was preparing to enter one of the most followed royal families in the world. For this wedding, the young woman had a wish: that her wedding dress remains secret until the day of the ceremony. The Duchess of Cambridge had therefore tried to remain as discreet as possible on the choice of her outfit. She had therefore arranged secret meetings with the designer Sarah Burton, artistic director of the Alexander McQueen house, so that no one could know who had designed her wedding dress. The secret was kept for several months.

But it was without counting on the indiscretions of the journalists of the Sunday Times who managed to learn which was the designer that the future wife of Prince William had chosen and who also unveiled some details of the dress she would wear for her wedding . “A source in the fashion community said the dress would be a combination of the design ideas of Kate Middleton herself and Burton’s high-fashion know-how,” it wrote. Katie Nicholl, a specialist in the royal family, revealed in a documentary entitled Secrets of the Royal Dressmakers that this indiscretion had deeply saddened Kate Middleton. The latter would also have burst into tears upon discovering the article in the weekly.
