We are coming to the end of this year 2021. Note that the New Year’s party is undoubtedly one of the biggest evenings of the year. Which does not bring back good memories to Kate Middleton. Indeed, according to the book The Making of a Royal Romance by Katie Nicholl, the New Year of 2006 was synonymous with tears for the current Duchess of Cambridge.

Indeed, on this date before their wedding, Kate and William had planned to spend the New Year together. Queen Elizabeth II’s grandson had spent Christmas at Sandringham with his family like every year. Except that he planned to make the trip to find Kate, the 39-year-old Duchess of Cambridge, and thus spend New Year’s Eve with the Middletons according to the book. Sadly, the Duke of Cambridge, 39, reportedly canceled his plans at the last minute. Which was a big shock for Kate who would have burst into tears. Moreover, this decision of the prince would have planted doubt on the future of their relationship in the heart of Kate.
Elizabeth II and Charles were not in favor of Kate Middleton
“William had had doubts and sat down with his father and grandmother to have a frank discussion about his future with Kate. Both advised him not to rush,” Katie Nicholl wrote in The Making of a Royal Romance. Note that in 2007, the couple, Kate and William, had separated. And sources at Mirror say the Queen was disappointed with the split, albeit brief.
For this year 2021, the Cambridges have spent Christmas together in their country house in Anmer Hall. Kate, William and their children Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3, were also joined by members of Kate’s family.
