On Monday, March 14 in the afternoon, Kate Middleton joined Prince William at the Commonwealth Day ceremony. The Cambridges were alongside Prince Charles, the Duchess of Cornwall, Prime Minister Boris Johnson and hundreds of dignitaries for the event. Unfortunately, Queen Elizabeth II was unable to attend this important date in the royal calendar. Having recently recovered from Coronavirus, she is currently experiencing mobility issues, according to the Daily Mail. It is therefore up to Prince Charles to represent it. Only, she has already had the opportunity to discuss the arrangements to be made during the event, according to the media.
For Commonwealth Day, the Queen has already made a statement. In particular, she said that she “hopes the Commonwealth will remain an influential force for good in our world for many generations to come”. She took the opportunity to renew her promise made in 1947 to always devote herself to service.
Kate Middleton shines in her total blue look
The Duchess of Cambridge is always sublime during her official outings. For this occasion, she stood out with a total blue look. The 40-year-old royal opted to don a bespoke Catherine Walker dress. She had also worn her Lock & Co hat to match her outfit. Regarding her shoes, she chose to match her outfit by wearing a blue pair from Rupert Sanderson.
Only, the piece that made her look shine is undoubtedly Princess Diana’s sapphire set. Note that the mother of Princes George, Louis and Princess Charlotte has already worn this necklace and these earrings when she and the Duke of Cambridge welcomed Ukrainian President Zelensky and his wife Olena to Buckingham Palace in October 2020.
