Kate Middleton recycled…her coat and earrings

When Kate Middleton loves, she doesn’t love halfway. This sentence can obviously be appropriate for her marriage to Prince William but also… for her dressing room. For Kate Middleton, there is no need to buy new when the old is still good for use. A thrifty duchess, it is indeed not uncommon for the Duchess of Cambridge to appear in public with recycled outfits. Whether for her Beulah London dresses, her Alexander McQueen coats or her jewelry, the Princess of Wales loves to wear her favorite accessories. And that’s exactly what fans of Kate Middleton noticed during her last outing. On November 5, the Duchess played the supporters of choice for England, who played their quarter-final of the Rugby World Cup at XII against Papua New Guinea.

To attend the sporting event, the Princess of Wales braved the rain in style wearing a stunning new monochrome outfit. After a 100% camel outfit, Kate Middleton opted for a red coat signed Alexander McQueen, her favorite designer, which she layered over a burgundy turtleneck. George, Charlotte and Louis’ mum teamed this look with suede heeled boots, pearl earrings and a purple poppy brooch, in honor of military troops who lost their lives in battle . And with her outfit, Kate Middleton has recycled…because her coat hasn’t left her for several years now. In October 2020, she was already wearing it for a visit to the ‘Hold Still’ exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London.

Kate Middleton: these earrings that never leave her

Two months later, she had once again sublimated it during a trip to Cardiff with Prince William. And for her jewelry too, Kate Middleton also delved into her favorite accessories. Because the Princess of Wales has been spotted wearing her 18k gold earrings with baroque pearls and brown diamonds during some of the most special moments of her life. It is in particular these that she had chosen for the first official photographs of Prince George. Before the quarter-final kick off, Kate Middleton met with both teams and took part in a minute of ‘non-silence’ to mark the tournament’s Movember Mental Fitness Match Day, a move that aims to tackle the negative stigma around talking about mental health.

And for Kate Middleton, this event was symbolic to say the least. It is indeed the first game she has attended since taking over from Prince Harry as patroness of the Rugby Football League and the Rugby Football Union. “I am delighted to become a patron of the Rugby Football League and the Rugby Football Union – two fantastic organizations which are committed to harnessing the power that sport can have to bring communities together and help individuals to thrive,” wrote Prince William’s wife on Instagram upon his appointment. I look forward to working with them at all levels of the games and cheering on England in what promises to be an exciting year for both sports!”
