On November 8, 2020, part of the British royal family gathered on the occasion of Remembrance Day in London. Prince Charles, William, Kate Middleton, Camilla Parker Bowles and Elizabeth II met the sanitary standards for the event: the Queen was present, alone, on the balcony and the Duchesses of Cambridge and Cornwall were placed more than a meter from distance. Meghan Markle and Harry meanwhile, organized their own Remembrance Day in the United States.
For the ceremony, the family members opted for dark outfits, a symbol of mourning. Kate Middleton has secretly paid tribute to the Queen by opting for the same style of earrings as the Queen. This is not the first time that William and Harry’s grandmother has opted for these jewels: she seems to be particularly keen on them since she wears them to almost all events. As well in June 2012 to inaugurate a new maternity hospital as in February 2017 during a mass in West Newton, or in June 2018 when she visited the galleries of Westminster Abbey.
