Imagine living in a place that would attract thousands of tourists every day … This is the case of Kate and William, who have to share their residence with the horde of daily visitors. Obviously, the apartments of the royal couple are not part of the part accessible by tourists, but they are located right next door. A proximity that naturally encourages the curious to peek out the window, in the hope of seeing the Cambridges in their private garden, even if the latter are unlikely to do so. Indeed, during her recent visit to Kensington Palace, a tiktoker by the name of Laura-Ann Bar noticed an ingenious ploy preventing visitors from seeing too much: in the room which overlooks the Cambrige garden (located on the right when looking out the window), all the panes have been fitted with a frosted effect blackout film, which blurs the right part of the panorama point. “There are all the windows in the room,” said the tiktokeuse, observer. Indeed, in the photos she captured, we can just see a long wall and a few trees before the landscape turns cloudy. Exit, the voyeurs!

Kate and William: their very private residence

Since moving into the private apartments of Kensington Palace, Kate and William have always made sure to keep the interior of their residence as secret as possible, offering only rare glimpses of what their home looks like. However, they made a few exceptions, such as during the visit of Barack and Michelle Obama in 2016, which the Cambridges had received at their home, in front of the photographers.
