Long before its official announcement, Kate and William’s first Christmas concert was already at the center of a drama. Initially scheduled for the BBC, this special show was then handed over to ITV. This follows an issue with the documentary The Princes and the Press. Indeed, the BBC decided to broadcast this documentary despite the protests of the royal family.
In any case, the service will take place on December 8 at Westminster Abbey. It is the Duchess of Cambridge who will have the honor of directing this show organized as part of a special broadcast in December. In fact, on Tuesday, November 30, the social media accounts of Prince William and Kate Middleton shared a photo of the invitation to this event. “This Christmas, we celebrate the incredible work of individuals and organizations across the nation who go above and beyond to support their communities,” the invitation read.

According to the Palace, this service will “be a celebration of life in our communities, and will illustrate how acts of kindness, empathy and love can nourish us and reconnect us”. It is also an opportunity for the whole nation to come together and reflect on the past 18 months. In addition, this service will include people from across the UK who have gone above and beyond to care for and protect those in need during the pandemic.

On the guest list there will also be people working in areas that the Cambridge and the Royal Foundation are focused on. This concert will include Christmas carols, readings as well as musical performances according to Hola. The service will be a mix of traditional elements and modern touches affecting all types of people depending on the Palace.
