Has the royal family ignored health rules? After the announcement of a re-containment of London and the South-East of England because of a new strain of the coronavirus, Kate Middleton and Prince William made a little blunder in terms of timing to flout the health instructions ordered by the government to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. The main one: the famous rules of six, which prohibits gatherings of more than six people, both indoors and outdoors, if they are not part of the same household, except in the case of a sporting activity.
So on Sunday 20 December, it was Kate Middleton and Prince William who were seen breaking this rule of six as they traveled with their children George, Charlotte and Louis to Sandringham Wood to admire Christmas lights. Because if they arrived all five on the royal domain, they joined on the spot Prince Edward and his wife Sophie of Wessex, come with their children Louise and James.
The couples did not intend to cross paths
While royal sources clarified that the Cambridge couple and the Wessex couple initially had no intention of meeting, reports The Mirror, they were pictured walking together on the estate, angering other visitors. “They were clearly breaking the rules of Covid, in my opinion, because there were nine from two separate households,” one of them reports to the tabloid, who adds that he then “could not refrain from thinking that it was one rule for them and another for others. ”
A new controversy for Kate and William
However, a relative of the royal family assured that this chance meeting had stopped at the frame of the attraction and that Kate Middleton and Prince William had left separately from Prince Edward and Sophie of Wessex. “As anyone with young children knows, there were times during the 90-minute walk when it was difficult to separate the two family groups,” a source told The Mirror. An argument that will perhaps prevent the Cambridge couple from provoking a new controversy, a few weeks after their trip to Scotland.
