The popularity rating of Prince William and Kate Middleton has been greatly affected
The publication of Prince Harry’s memoir The Substitute (Spare) continues to make waves within the royal family. It must be said that the revelations are linked to the conflicts that have shaken the Firm in recent years, especially since the marriage of Prince Harry with his wife Meghan Markle. In his memoirs, Diana’s youngest son does not hesitate to reveal an unknown facet of Prince William by talking about their exchanges and even mentioning an argument between the brothers which ended in a big scuffle. Perhaps it was this kind of scene, mixed in with everything else, that caused Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton’s public popularity to plummet.
According to YouGov, which carried out a survey on January 12, two days after the publication of Harry’s memoir, the popularity rating of Prince William and his wife is at its lowest since 2011, when this type of surveys by the organization. The figures collected from the respondents are not for all that catastrophic since Prince William gathers a favorable opinion of 49% while Kate Middleton barely exceeds him with 50%. Without too much surprise, the opinion of the British is especially harsh towards Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, whom many questioned place below Prince Andrew, linked to cases of pedophilia via Jeffrey Epstein and accused of sexual assault. ..
Princess Anne tops the charts
By having stayed away from a large part of the stories of the royal family and in particular the conflicts with Prince Harry, one member of the family stands out and is at the top of the popularity ranking: Princess Anne. The daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip gathers 59% favorable opinions in her favor, a score higher than anyone else in the ranking in which Prince William, Kate Middleton, King Charles also appear III, Prince Edward, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Prince Andrew.
