“Oh and did you see that #PlatinumJubilee now has its own emoji too?” concludes the tweet from Kate Middleton, 40, and Prince William, 39. The silly announcement of Queen Elizabeth’s grandson and his wife comes on May 30, 2022. However, the infamous “PJ Corgi” emoji was featured on Twitter on May 26, 2022, reports People Magazine. “On Thursday, the official Twitter account of the British Royal Family introduced a corgi emoji wearing a crown and named PJ in honor of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee,” People said. The corgi, wearing a purple crown, appears with the hashtags: #PlatinumJubilee, #HM70, #PlatinumPartyatthePalace, #PlatinumJubileePageant or #TheBigJubileeLunch.

PJ Corgi: the emoji in honor of the Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II of England

The choice of this emoji is not trivial. The corgi is quite simply the 96-year-old queen’s favorite dog breed. “We hope that as many of you as possible use PJ to help celebrate the Jubilee here on Twitter,” the Palace account wrote. On Instagram, an imperial crown filter also makes reference to the Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II of England. Prior to Kate Middleton and Prince William’s account, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall’s Twitter page also welcomed PJ Corgi.
