Kanye West is no more: now you have to call him “Ye”

From his old real name Kanye Omari West, “Ye” wished to change his name in his marital status. Michelle Williams, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge approved the rapper’s request on Monday, October 18. Kim Kardashian’s ex filed her claim towards the end of August this year as her divorce gets heavily publicized. The request is for “personal reasons” which the spokesperson for the court did not disclose.

The nickname “Ye”, an abbreviation of the 44-year-old rapper’s first name, was first used in 2012. The nickname was heard on the star’s single with Jay-Z and Big Sean. For Kanye West, “Ye” would also have religious significance according to USA Today. In addition, the rapper titled his eighth album released in 2018, “Ye”. In an interview with Big Boy, the star said, “I believe ‘ye’ is the most used word in the Bible, and in the Bible it means ‘you’.”

Kanye West becomes “Ye” with no name or middle name

If Kim Kardashian kept West’s name even after the divorce, “Ye” had wanted to be called “Ye” since 2018. On his twitter account in 2018, he announced that he was no longer “formally known as Kanye West … I’m YE. ” In all of his marital status, the rapper draws a final line on his last name. The judgment grants him the bearing of the name “Ye” period. Currently, Kanye West’s name on his Instagram account and on his Twitter account is now “Ye” as well.
