Hipgnosis Song Management founder Merck Mercuriadis released a statement about the acquisition on Tuesday (January 24th).

“Justin Bieber’s impact on global culture over the past 14 years has truly been remarkable. (…) ‘Scooter Braun has helped him build a wonderful catalog, and it’s a pleasure to welcome Justin and his amazing songs and recordings in the Hipgnosis family,'” he announced. Note that a month ago, the Wall Street Journal reported that the pop megastar was going to sell his entire music catalog for $200 million. At the time, Justin Bieber was still in negotiations with Hipgnosis Songs Capital. This deal would include his publishing and recorded music catalog.
