They are one of the most prominent couples on the world political scene. Last January, Joe Biden was introduced to the White House as the 46th President of the United States. Beside him, still loyal to the post, is his wife Jill, who after campaigning for her husband took up her duties as First Lady, despite an unfulfilled tradition of Melania Trump of presenting her the duties before her arrival. A strong support for Joe Biden, who is not however her first husband.
Indeed, to marry the one with whom she spins the perfect love for more than 40 years, Dr. Jill Biden was married to Bill Stevenson, whom she had married in 1970. After 5 years of marriage, the couple however decided to divorce. A godsend for the First Lady, as she explained in her first interview as such, conducted by Kelly Clarkson. As she spoke of her own divorce from Brandon Blackstock after 7 years of marriage and two children, the singer received invaluable advice from Jill Biden, who assured her that “time heals all wounds”. And that this divorce may not be such a bad thing, since in her case, if she had never divorced she would never have met Joe Biden and formed a beautiful family with him, reports TMZ.
Joe and Jill Biden are parents of a daughter born in 1981
Very discreet about her private life, Dr. Jill Biden had so far never mentioned her life before Joe Biden whom she met in 1975, the year of her divorce. Married two years later, they welcomed together their only daughter, Ashley, born in 1981. However, by marrying the 46th President of the United States, the teacher also adopted his two sons, Beau and Hunter, born of his marriage to his first wife Neilia, who died in a terrible car accident in 1972. For them, and her daughter Ashley, she had even decided to put her career on hold before resuming her studies a few years later.
