Jeff Bridges took the initiative and decided for himself to announce, Monday evening October 19, 2020, that he was suffering from cancer. Thus, the 70-year-old American actor took to Twitter to begin his announcement with a line from The Dude, a character he played in The Big Lebowski. “Y a du nouveau” (“New shit has come to light”), he wrote before revealing to be suffering from cancer. “I was diagnosed with lymphoma. Although it is a serious disease, I consider myself happy to have a great medical team and the prognosis is good”, he continued while wanting to be very reassuring. Before concluding his post, Jeff Bridges promised his many fans that he will not leave them without news during the coming weeks of his battle with the disease. “I am starting treatment and will keep you posted on my recovery.”
The actor has multiplied successful films throughout his career. He has also been nominated seven times for the Oscars. In 2010, he managed to land the coveted statuette for his role in Crazy Heart. He had thus won the Oscar for best actor. An award that did not prevent him from continuing his ascent since the following year, he was again selected by the prestigious academy for his performance in the western True Grit.
As the Dude would say .. New S ** T has come to light. I have been diagnosed with Lymphoma. Although it is a serious disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good. I’m starting treatment and will keep you posted on my recovery.

Jeff Bridges is a jack of all trades
At 70, Jeff Bridges was not ready to retire. For good reason, he is currently filming for a television series for the FX channel. He stars in The Old Man, an adaptation of a spy novel in which he plays a retired CIA agent who tries to escape his past. But Jeff Bridges is not just a comedian, he also has several strings to his bow. Musician, photographer or even writer, he is a multi-talented jack of all trades.
