The world of cinema is in mourning. Jean-Louis Trintignant died on Friday June 17, 2022, at the age of 91. His wife, Mariane Hoepfner Trintignant confirmed the news of his death and specified that he died of old age at his home in the Gard. If he died peacefully and accompanied by his relatives, Jean-Louis Trintignant joined his two daughters, who left years earlier.

Indeed, the actor, who has performed nearly 160 roles in theater and cinema, was the father of three children, born of his relationship with Nadine Trintignant. Marie, born in 1962 and died in 2003, under the blows of her companion, Bertrand Cantat; Pauline, born in 1969 and died at the age of 10 months, following asphyxia linked to regurgitation of milk; and Vincent born in 1973.

Vincent Trintignant became director and producer

Vincent Trintignant was born three years before his parents’ divorce. He grew up on film sets and also made an appearance at the age of three in Le Voyage de noces, directed by his mother. The latter then married Alain Corneau in 1988 and he was adopted, once an adult, by the director with the consent of his biological father.

Vincent Trintignant decided to follow the family path by becoming an actor, assistant director, screenwriter then director and producer. The son of Jean-Louis Trintignant has collaborated several times with his mother, Nadine Trintignant as on the TV movie Victory or the pain of women. In the latter, his sister Marie is also the main actress. Subsequently, he will also work with his adoptive father, notably as an assistant director on Les mots bleus and Crime d’amour.
