“My heart is broken into a million pieces”. Monday, October 26, Jamie Foxx announced on his Instagram account the disappearance of his little sister, Deondra Dixon. According to People magazine, it was on October 19 that the 36-year-old young woman died, without revealing the causes. Sad news that the Oscar-winning actor wanted to share, he who was very close to her, by paying her a vibrant tribute, and this in the caption of several photos of her.
“My loving step sister Deondra made the transition … I say transition because she will still be alive”, assures Jamie Foxx, who explains that “anyone who knew [her] sister knew she was a shining light” . “I can’t tell you how many times we’ve had parties at home where she walked on the dance floor and stole the show,” he recalls in his touching post, while for the first photo he took chose a shot of the two of them, in black and white. “I know she is in heaven now dancing with her wings … although my pain is incredible I smile when I think of all the good memories she left me”, he clarified .

Although Deondra Dixon was actually the half-sister of Jamie Foxx, born from the second marriage of his mother Louise Annette Dixon to George Dixon, the actor seemed close to her, and never failed to support her in her duties as Ambassador of the Global Down Syndrome Foundation. For several years, Deondra Dixon had indeed been very involved with people suffering from Trisomy 21, a congenital chromosomal anomaly from which she was also affected. “Deondra you left leaving a hole in my heart, but I’m going to fill it with all the memories you gave me … I love you with every ounce of me,” says Jamie Foxx, who concludes: “Our family is broken but we will put the pieces back together with your love.”
