He and alcohol obviously don’t go well together. A renowned actor, Gérard Depardieu is as well known for his impressive filmography as for his fondness for the bottle, a subject about which he has never hidden. Claiming to be able to drink up to 14 bottles of alcohol a day, the actor had told So Film in a previous interview that he had made drinking a habit when he was bored, even if he can sometimes spend months without drinking. This can sometimes give rise to anecdotes, as amusing as they are disturbing. Invited on the Daily set, Tuesday, February 15, he thus remembered an evening during which he passed out after parking his scooter.

“I can’t drink anymore because, the other time, I wanted to show off but I didn’t feel like drinking. I drank two gins at some friends’ house. I left on a scooter. Fortunately, the two boys followed me. I parked my scooter and then I fell into a kind of coma”, he confided, then wanting to be reassuring about his state of health, claiming to have woken up “in great shape” the next day. “Every time you come, you tell us that you drink and that you take your scooter”, retorted Yann Barthès to the actor currently indicted for rape.

Has Gérard Depardieu ever been arrested drunk?

If he did not have a problem this time with the authorities, this has not always been the case for Gérard Depardieu who has already been arrested in a state of intoxication and tested positive for the alcohol test. Thus, in August 2020, when he was returning home on a scooter, he had been ordered to stop by the gendarmes when he “presented the appearance of drunkenness”. Subjected to passing an alcohol test and blowing into a breathalyzer, it turned out to be positive, therefore above the maximum limit which is 0.2 grams per liter of blood. Preferring to play the honesty card, Gérard Depardieu reportedly told officials that he drank two beers before hitting the road with his scooter. He finally went home, not on his vehicle, but accompanied by friends.
