This man expected to be shown the slightest politeness. By asking for a simple thank you, he leaves his life there. It all happens at a grocery store in Brooklyn, New York, late on the evening of September 20, 2022. A 37-year-old man walks into the grocery store and in a fit of kindness holds the door open for whoever is coming right behind him . The second man in question is younger than him. He is a 30 year old man. Believing he deserves a small thank you from the man for whom he held the door, he is offended when this one says nothing.

“Why don’t you say: thank you for holding the door?” would have asked the 37-year-old man, reports Lematin.ch citing the testimony of a store employee, relayed by ABC News. Without any embarrassment, the 30-year-old man would have retorted that he did not ask for the door to be opened to him. Then begin increasingly violent exchanges between the two men. The altercation quickly turns tragic and the two men start fighting inside the grocery store.

Stabbing in the neck and abdomen instead of a thank you

According to the testimony of the store employee, the fight continues outside. This is where the thirties, the one who did not see fit to say thank you, pulled out a knife. He stabs the 37-year-old man in the neck and abdomen, reports Lematin.ch. He then fled on a bicycle. The man attacked by the man to whom he held the door is transported to a hospital in Brooklyn where he succumbed to his injuries. Police were still looking for the attacker when the Lematin.ch article was published on September 23, 2022.
